How long will my insurance claim take to go through? What will happed if I just fix my sportbike myself?

Had a collision with a van on my sportbike, not sure who is going to be found at fault. I gave my recorded statement to my insurance company two days ago, and the guy said that he would call the other persons insurance company and get a statement from them. If they are found at fault I believe they will have to pay for my repairs…. otherwise I’ll fix it myself.

The damage to my bike wasn’t that bad:

The front stay cracked at the mounting point and needs to be replaced: 0 from the dealer, less off ebay.
The upper fairing is a little scuffed… it honestly looks ok and I could touch it up to the point where it is not so noticable. 5 to have it painted and order new decals.
Forks are slightly twisted in the triple trees,need to loosen front end and realign.
My 0 helmet needs to be replaced.

Other than that, end of mirrors slightly scuffed, right footpeg bent, left signal light slightly scuffed, brake lever slightly bent.
My question is if I make some basic repairs myself will I have trouble getting reimbursed for it later? Just want to replace the front stay so it is ridable again.
